The Bali Wedding–the Edge of the World with Linda & Chris1:18 PM
It’s the one word that keeps coming to mind when I describe life as a full time wedding photographer. I live in a world where there is no such thing as routine, no time to settle in. Rather, each weekend, each destination…a radically different puzzle bringing with it unique visual challenges to make beautiful of.
At the tail end of 2016, I was presented with the idea of picking up my camera halfway across the world. I first met Chris and Linda at Calvin & Michelle’s wedding in Lake Tahoe. I’d like to think we clicked rather quickly over our mutual nerding of all things photography and was deeply honored when the brother reached out to see if we could make this happen. We did.
Our tour of Bali brought us to quite a few gorgeous spaces, each one distinct in its design to showcase the islands natural beauty with a touch of minimalism & modernity. Upon landing, I was greeted by my awesome and friendly driver Made who patiently waited for HOURS due to flight hiccups. The welcome party was going down at the Four Seasons’ clifftop bar so we made that our first destination. A few hours in and with a few dozen cocktails making love to our livers, the group moseyed on over to The Edge Resort where the wedding would ultimately take place over the next few days. It was a shoot that tickled the core of all things creative while presenting worthwhile technical
hurdles opportunities: shooting in a monsoon, at night, to fireworks…waking up to dozens of monkeys swarming the ceremony site…picture perfect infinity pools around every corner, just to name a few. Too much good stuff.
I’ll just let the pictures tell the story:
Getting married? Let’s go.
