Lake Tahoe Wedding Photographer – Michelle & Calvin1:34 PM
The last time I was in Lake Tahoe I was 6 years old. Being on the younger side, my experience was a bit limited but the space left an overwhelmingly positive impression on mind. When Michelle and Calvin told me I’d be shooting their wedding in Tahoe, images of expansive views, ocean-grade blues, and ridiculous amounts of trees began to flood my mind. I was ecstatic, beyond excited, and wanted nothing less than to go all out when the day finally came.
The First Look and Creatives took place on a private dock not far from their ceremony site at the West Shore Cafe. The weather was perfect with temperatures being friendly enough to do most of what I wanted to do in one go. Michelle, Calvin, and their entire entourage were amazing (special thanks to Prestigious Planning’s Aileen Styczynski – who served as a bridesmaid AND made sure the day was executed without a hitch). I really appreciated their up-for-anything attitude and willingness to have a little fun throughout the process. It kept things fresh and unpredictable which ultimately led to a final set of images with much more interest and personality. Case in point: my favorite shot of the weekend was the result of an Entourage involved effort of sparkler-enhanced light painting at 10pm! Keep in mind this was at the the end of the night when folks were reasonably turnt up and penmanship was the last thing on peoples’ minds. But it worked, and it was epic.
Going into this shoot, one central idea kept repeating in my mind: Bride + Groom, being ridiculously adorable, against a landscape of pure freshwater stunnage. =)
I think I hit my goal.
