Los Angeles Engagement Photographer – Tiffany and Dillon12:29 PM
A few months ago my wife and I spent the weekend hanging out with our long-time friends Tiffany and Dillon. What made the session extra fun was they came all the way out from Arizona for the shoot AND we are both massive photo-nerds. Over the last few years Dillon and I have spent entire conversations on the subtleties of lenses, cameras, and emerging new technologies. Boring for most people but fun like waffles for us. Needless to say, when they approached me for their engagement and wedding photos, I knew I had to step up my game and do something special. =)
We picked a beautiful afternoon and visited my favorite locations around the Los Angeles area…all very strong areas with spaces that seem to change often, giving rise to fresh visual textures season after season. On top of that, I brought my most exotic lenses to make things interesting! Namely, a lens I found from a street merchant in Ukraine (for flashes of color and lensflare), a tilt-shift (for selective focusing and blurring), and a 200/f2 (the biggest lens I own).
I am so proud and excited to finally share some of the photos with you. To me, the resulting images are a study of color and lens-flare against calculated depth and perspective. I love the way light travels and bounces through the lens, picking up a whole spectrum of colors, before finally reaching the sensor. Beautifully unpredictable.
Super looking forward to the wedding this weekend. Let’s make this good shall we?
