Westlake Village Inn Wedding Photographer – Jennifer & Wayne2:47 PM
Today I'm proudly featuring Jennifer & Wayne's gorgeous wedding at the Westlake Village Inn. Venues with cool stuff are the best. Elements like arches, lakes, sun-lit walkways, and open lawns are inherently great for photos and their visual accents change as the sunlight passes across the sky, opening up new possibilities (and closing others) as the day goes on. Our bride Jennifer also had lots of neat ideas for photos she wanted so the entire day felt like a very collaborative/creative project. Their first look for example: instead of the bride walking up the groom, they chose to face each other with eyes closed and waited for just the right moment to open and see each other for the first time. Their reactions were priceless…
Jennifer and Wayne, together with their wedding party, were very high energy and open to the randomness that is a photo-shoot. All around, a fantastically fun group to be around especially since it was over 90 degrees so I super appreciated the groomsmen for enduring the heat in the suits!
One of the highlight moments was the set of photos taken at night around 10:00pm. We revisited a walkway that was previously too washed out and bright to shoot during the day; the results would have been harsh and unflattering. However at night, the same exact spot was now a perfectly designed set with cascading rows of lit arches. Although still very dark to the eyes, a little bit of camera tweaking resulted in an image that, let’s just say, was the perfect way to close out the shoot!
Hope you enjoy these highlights Jennifer and Wayne – lot’s more where these came from~
Jennifer & Wayne shared an AWESOME review of SimplyTwo! -
We just had our wedding this past Saturday, and John was so awesome! Although we haven't gotten our full set of wedding photos yet, we are already SO impressed with his work that I could not wait to write this review. John also did our engagement photos which we were also very happy with and used at our own wedding. As for the wedding photos, he has shared some of the shots he took right off of his camera, and he also shared some sneak peak photos both edited and unedited. If our unedited wedding photos already look that stunning, I can only imagine how gorgeous the edited photos will be. John truly has an artistic eye, and has the ability to find the light in the most beautiful and spectacular way. It's kind of amazing when you see the images on his camera and then look back to the spot you were just standing to see a completely different perspective. Not only is John a truly talented photographer, but he also has the ability to make you feel super comfortable as if you have known him for years as an old friend. We really liked how comfortable he made us feel, and appreciated how he would show us the shots after he took them so we knew what adjustments to make (and just to satisfy our curiosity). My husband is definitely camera shy, and John was able to crack him open which says a lot! So a BIG thank you to John. To anyone looking for a photographer, look no further, because John is it!
